17 Apr The Crimson Hunters – 4 stars
The latest from my favourite nemesis, @robertjpower, The Crimson Hunters is a compilation of two of his previous novellas (The Crimson Hunters and The Crimson Hunted) into one novel.
I was into this book right from the first page. Power’s writing is just so entertaining, self-deprecating, and funny. I love that the main characters are a bunch of hapless mercenaries (at least at the beginning) with very few redeeming features. There are a LOT of battle scenes in this one, so be warned, but I found them entertaining and well thought out.
If you like your writing clever, descriptive, and with plenty of amusing musings by the characters on the state of their lives/the battle/the gods, I highly recommend picking up this one. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me
